Crispy oven-baked honey BBQ wings with a sticky, sweet glaze. Tender on the inside, full of smoky-sweet flavour, and easy to prepare. Perfect for weeknight meals or sharing with friends, these wings deliver all the indulgence of BBQ without frying or fuss.
Preheat your oven to 200°C (fan 180°C). Line a baking tray with foil and set a wire rack over it. This allows hot air to circulate under the wings so they cook evenly.
Pat the chicken wings dry with kitchen paper — this step helps them crisp. Place them in a large bowl, add salt, pepper, smoked paprika, and garlic powder, and toss until evenly coated. Arrange the wings in a single layer on the rack.
Bake for 25 minutes. Meanwhile, whisk together your honey BBQ sauce and honey in a small bowl. After the first bake, brush the wings generously with half the sauce. Return them to the oven for 10 minutes, then brush with the remaining sauce. Bake for a final 8–10 minutes until sticky, glossy, and lightly caramelised at the edges. Let the wings rest for 5 minutes before serving so the glaze sets properly.
